Our Promises

Our promises reflect where we are today and the direction in which we want The Zany Club to grow. Each piece comes on a journey to you, and while we know there is always more to learn, these are the three principles that guide the way we design, make and care for our clothing.

Natural fibres, thoughtfully chosen

We predominantly choose natural fibres such as cotton, linen, wool and silk for their breathability, comfort, beauty and durability.

Natural does not automatically mean impact-free. The cultivation, dyeing and production of every fabric affect both people and the planet, and we are committed to learning more and seeking better materials and practices as we grow.

Alongside our new fabrics, we create one-of-a-kind collections from repurposed vintage saris. This gives existing textiles another life while celebrating their individual colours, patterns and histories.

People and partnership

The Zany Club is made possible by a small team, both here in the UK and overseas. We know the people involved in making our garments by name, understand their individual expertise and value the contribution each person brings.

By working closely together, we remain directly involved from fabric sourcing and pattern development through to cutting and production. We are committed to slow, considered production, fair pay and working environments in which skill, wellbeing and mutual respect are valued.

Making the most of every material

Our aim is to make thoughtful use of every piece of fabric we buy. Garments are designed alongside their patterns and cutting layouts, helping us reduce waste without compromising their shape, quality or finish.

We create in limited quantities and want every wearable garment to find an owner. Samples and pieces with small imperfections are sold transparently, with their condition clearly explained. When a piece cannot be sold as originally intended, we look for ways to repair, adapt or remake it.

The fabric remaining after cutting is considered part of the design process too. Usable remnants become bags, pouches, and other accessories—allowing each beautiful fabric to come to life in as many ways as possible.
